The cementing of wells is a key factor, because how you build your well means how much it will serve to you. Now days small companies do not pay much attention on quality of cementing which is the reason of future big problems, sustained casing pressure, delay in production, cost of remedial cement jobs. Usually the budget of cement jobs per well is like 5% the cost of well. Cementing is a disciple which is involved in all phases of well. Right after drilling the well in order to cement casings, after couple of years production in order to block water zones and also during abandoning of the well at the end of well's life.
During seminar I covered basic stuff just to give students ideas why we need to cement casing and what will happen if we fail to cement casing. Also topics like types of casing and how we choose the casing were covered .
Anar Alimov, Microsoft Corporation Software Development Engineer has given presentation on “Career opportunities for software engineers outside Azerbaijan” in Khazar University conference room under CES Seminars program. Approximately 30 computer engineering students and junior engineers were attended in this seminar.
